Art Center Ukiah Celebrates “Pride Month
June 2024
Since 1970 June has been the month when LGBTQ+ people, their families and friends have gathered to celebrate with demonstrations of pride and to recognize the impact that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals have had on history locally, nationally, and internationally. Art Center Ukiah brings a multi dimension show of celebration. A major installation of “I AM” wall, features photographs of individuals with “I AM” statement in one word plus a QR code to share stories. Laura Fogg, with professional photographer, and Dane Nelson, organized this unique inter-active exhibit. Other local artists and professionals exhibit their support. Paintings by artists Janet Rosen, Jazzminh Moore and floral expression by Wil Gonzales, owner of W/E Flowers plus more paintings, photographs, sculpture and fabric art from local artists
The PRIDE show is generously sponsored by Norman and Karen Rosen of Ukiah and a grant from the Rykken and Skoll Memorial LBGTQ Fund from Sonoma County.
Opening Reception Friday June 7th 5pm – 8pm. 201 South State Street Ukiah
